Located north of Saint-Michel-des-Saints in the Lanaudière region, ZEC Collin offers a 428 km2 territory entirely forested and dotted with some 100 lakes. It is bordered to the west by Réserve faunique Rouge-Matawin and to the northwest by ZEC Boullé. On the south side, it is separated from ZEC Lavigne by a narrow corridor through which flows the Rivière Matawin Ouest.
Populated by moose, white-tailed deer, black bear and small game, this region is one of the most game-rich in Quebec. Its many waterways are home to northern pike, lake trout, walleye, bass and brook trout. In addition to hunting and fishing, many outdoor activities are available.
Enjoy wild fruit and mushroom picking, canoeing, kayaking, paddleboarding and mountain biking. Lacs Saint-Elphège, Anicet, Baie Rocheuse and Lusignan offer canoe-camping circuits. You can also swim or take a walk on the beaches of Lac Charland and Lac Lusignan. Canoes, kayaks and paddleboards are available for hire.
Lodgings
The ZEC Collin offers beautiful primitive campsites near magnificent lakes. Some sites are accessible by car, others by 4×4 vehicle. Most sites feature a picnic table, fire pit and outhouse. Some sites have a platform for pitching a tent. The canoe/kayak camping circuit offers several campsites, some of which are located on islands in Lac Lusignan. If you prefer ready-to-camp, four shelters are available. Please note that there is no stove, fridge or running water. You’ll need to bring your own dishes, bedding, stove and cooler.
