The park covers the Fjord of the Saguenay (in the Park of the Saguenay River) and the St. Lawrence River between St-Fidèle and Les Escoumins on half of its width. Saguenay - Laurent Marine Park creation network global marine conservation areas. Result of a concerted action, it is the first Park in Quebec to preserve and develop exclusively marine. He is also the only Park co-managed by both levels of Government in association with the stakeholders. Protection of belugas from the St. Lawrence is responsible for the creation of this protected area. In this perspective, the maintenance of biodiversity is at the heart of the collective concerns.
